Synopsis

Captain Jack Aubrey and his friend, the physician and spy Stephen Maturin, sail to the South China Sea on a high-stakes diplomatic mission to the Malay States. While Aubrey navigates the dangers of the ocean and French warships, Maturin must use his wits to outmaneuver rival agents in a complex game of political chess.
