Synopsis

Captain Jack Aubrey and physician Stephen Maturin find themselves in dire straits after a shipwreck leaves them at the mercy of the sea. Their journey takes them from the Dutch East Indies to the shores of a young United States just as the War of 1812 breaks out. They must navigate naval battles and political espionage to find their way back to British waters.
