One Piece, Vol. 12
This is the twelfth volume of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece, closing out the Loguetown arc as Luffy's crew prepares to enter the Grand Line. Luffy narrowly escapes execution at the hands of his old rivals Lady Alvida and Buggy the Clown, but the Navy is now hot on his trail — led by the relentless Captain Smoker, who has never let a pirate escape his jurisdiction. Published by VIZ Media on October 3, 2006 under the Shonen Jump imprint (rated Teen), the volume runs 200 pages.
Note: the genre, pace, complexity and audience recorded here describe the One Piece series as a whole rather than this specific volume. VIZ categorizes the series as Action-Adventure/Fantasy; Wikipedia describes it as an adventure, comedy-drama, science-fantasy shōnen manga serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 1997 — an all-ages action-adventure title aimed at a teen readership.
