When the Rain Burns

After surviving a school shooting that killed her best friend, Lina tries to outrun the trauma by leaving everything behind — including Liam, who stood beside her through the worst of it. When she meets Tom and falls in love, she finally feels safe again, until the happy relationship curdles into something else: Tom controls her, humiliates her, and gaslights her until she barely trusts her own perception.

To survive, Lina has to find her way back to the one person who helped her through the darkest period of her life — if Liam is still willing to be there. "When the Rain Burns" is inspired by a real story and centers trauma recovery and coercive control within a second-chance romance framework.
