Synopsis

Sadie is a civil engineer with a talent for building things that last and a genius for avoiding the one man who once got under her skin. Erik is the composed, infuriating structural engineer she had a brief, complicated history with — the kind of history she would very much like to forget.

So of course they end up trapped together in a stalled elevator during a New York City blackout, with nowhere to go and no way to avoid the conversation they never had. Forced into close quarters and even closer honesty, Sadie and Erik have to untangle what really happened between them, and whether the spark they both denied was ever really gone.

The second of Ali Hazelwood's STEMinist novellas, Stuck with You is a short, banter-filled second-chance rom-com about two engineers, one very small space, and the feelings neither of them planned to revisit.

Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need to read Under One Roof first?

No. This is the second of the three STEMinist Novellas, but each one follows a different couple and stands on its own. Reading them in order (Under One Roof, Stuck with You, Below Zero) just means you meet Sadie, Mara and Hannah as friends before each gets her turn.

  • How long is it, and is it a full novel?

It is a novella of around 127 pages, not a full novel. All three STEMinist stories are that length, which is why they were later collected into one volume.

  • Is this the same as Loathe to Love You?

Partly. Loathe to Love You, published in 2023, collects all three novellas in one book and adds a bonus chapter. If you buy that, you already have Stuck with You, so there is no need to buy both.
