Synopsis

Gulf Coast Secrets is the second book in Maggie Miller's Blackbird Beach series, published in February 2021. It picks up directly from Gulf Coast Cottage and is written to be read in order.

Georgia Carpenter has come out of a bitter divorce with no house and no job, and her daughter Mia has come out of an engagement her fiancé ended by cheating with her best friend. What Georgia does have is her late Aunt Norma's cottages and inn on Florida's Gulf Coast. Mother and daughter set about getting the place fit to open, and Travis Taylor, a local handyman, turns up to help — which is good for the inn and complicated for Georgia.

The obstacles are the everyday kind: money, the state of the buildings, a third-storey addition the City Council has opinions about, Travis's mother-in-law making trouble, and things about Norma and the family that nobody had said out loud.

It is short, gentle, and clean — no explicit content — with the comfort of a family working on a building together and a slow, low-key romance running underneath it.
