Synopsis

In the bitter winter of 1945, in a snowbound Yorkshire Dales village, a child is born to Kay — a young woman who is not who she claims to be, and whose baby's father is a German prisoner of war. Decades later, widowed Kay and her daughter Evie move into a cottage at Wintergill Farm to escape the pull of Christmas memories, unknowingly stepping into the orbit of the Snowdens — Nik, fighting to hold onto land his family has farmed for generations, and his mother Nora, worn down by a harder and harder life. A restless spirit tied to an old tragedy still haunts the land, waiting for a lost child to be found.
