Synopsis

A Feast for Crows is the fourth volume of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. With the great war winding down, the surviving powers of Westeros turn to the harder work of holding what they've won.

The realm is exhausted. Old alliances have collapsed, broken men roam the ruined countryside, and in King's Landing a fragile regime tries to rule through fear and cunning. Across the Seven Kingdoms — in Dorne, on the Iron Islands, in the riverlands and the Vale — new players step forward and long-buried ambitions surface. This volume follows one half of Martin's cast (the other half's story unfolds in parallel in A Dance with Dragons), concentrating on the aftermath of conflict rather than its battles.

Slower and more intimate than the books before it, A Feast for Crows is a study of the cost of war and the scramble to shape what comes after. A rewarding read for those invested in the long game of Westeros.
