Synopsis

The Winds of Winter is the long-awaited sixth novel in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, continuing directly from A Dance with Dragons. As of 2026 the manuscript remains unfinished and no release date has been announced by the author or publisher. Martin has released preview chapters from several character viewpoints over the years, including Arianne Martell, Theon Greyjoy, Arya Stark, Victarion Greyjoy, Aeron Greyjoy, Tyrion Lannister and Barristan Selmy, but the finished novel's plot and full point-of-view roster have not been made public.
