Synopsis

An ambush wipes out most of Taldain's Sand Masters, magicians who bend the desert's sand to their will. Kenton inherits the title of Lord Mastrell anyway. Almost no one is left to lead, and the ruling council would rather see the order disappear for good.

Kenton has to trade the fighting he knows for diplomacy. He courts Dayside's rulers to keep his people from extinction, while assassins keep coming for him from every side. His only steady ally is Khriss, a visitor from Taldain's night side whose own reasons for helping are not fully his to know.

The two strike a pact. It pulls her deeper into sand mastery and him deeper into her orbit. The graphic novel follows their uneasy partnership through court intrigue and open attempts on Kenton's life.

Illustrated by Julius Gopez and scripted by Rik Hoskin from Sanderson's original story, this is the second volume of White Sand, part of the wider Cosmere. It picks up directly after the first volume's massacre and does not stand alone.
