The Path of Ascension Book 10.5

The Path of Ascension Book 10.5 is a side-story interlude in C. Mantis's LitRPG and progression-fantasy series, sitting between books 10 and 11 of the twelve-volume run. Rather than following the protagonists' own climb, it collects point-of-view chapters from characters across the Realm — factions, allies, and enemies — as word spreads of Matt, Liz, and Aster's Ascension.

Echoes of an Ascension come in as many flavors as there are sources, and this volume traces how those echoes land. While the trio departs to fight a war their predecessors started two hundred years ago, the Empire marches on, and the people the Ascenders touched respond in their own ways: some with hope, some with ambition, some with fear. The rotating perspectives show the consequences of the trio's rise from the outside and lay the groundwork for the war arc that follows.

As a companion novella, it is best read in publication order, between books 10 and 11. Like the rest of the series, it blends LitRPG structure — dungeons, skills, rifts — with a Xianxia-style cultivation engine underneath, keeping the magic and progression systems internally consistent. The main storyline resumes in book 11.
