Synopsis

In 1143, Brother Cadfael must investigate a charge of heresy brought against a young man's deceased master. When a murder occurs during the pilgrimage to Shrewsbury, the monk-herbalist has to find the killer while navigating the dangerous line between faith and free inquiry. It is a mystery set against the backdrop of medieval religious tension and the civil war between Stephen and Maud.

She is probably best known for her murder mysteries, both historical and modern, and especially for her medieval detective series The Cadfael Chronicles.
