Synopsis

Harry Dresden thought he was finally getting a break, but an old debt to the Queen of the Winter Court has come due. He's been called to perform a small favor that will put him in the middle of a dangerous conflict. This task will test his abilities and loyalties like never before.

Jim Butcher (born October 26, 1971, in Independence, Missouri) is an American author best known for The Dresden Files, a long-running urban fantasy series following wizard-for-hire Harry Dresden. He also wrote the six-book Codex Alera series and the steampunk-inspired Cinder Spires series. Butcher wrote the first Dresden Files novel, Storm Front, as an exercise for a writing course in 1996, at age 25. He now lives in the mountains outside Denver, Colorado.
