Synopsis

Wisconsin, 1931. Buck Wilson will not accept failure as the payment for everything he has given up, but he has kept his secrets too long for anyone to take his word now. With his freedom at stake, there is exactly one person he trusts to find the real story, and she is the woman he left a month before their wedding.

Caroline Wagoneer is an investigative journalist who cares about one thing: getting the truth into the light. That, and nothing warmer, is why she agrees when her ex-fiancé asks her to go undercover in Crow's Nest.

What she finds there does not match the man she thought she knew. As lies and rumour close around them both, Buck and Caroline face the possibility that doing the right thing will cost them each other.

Book six of Danielle Grandinetti's Harbored in Crow's Nest, a Depression-era romantic suspense series set on the Wisconsin shore of Lake Michigan.
