Synopsis

Wisconsin, 1930. Adaleigh Sirland is running for her life when she stops to pull a child out of danger, and the family who take her in give her the first safe place she has had in a long time. It lasts exactly as long as her name stays hidden.

David Martins, a first mate, cannot make sense of the woman his grandmother has taken under her roof, or of how much he wants to. He has his own reckoning waiting: his estranged father has been arrested for murder, and the case will not leave the family alone.

When exposure closes in on Adaleigh, she has to choose between running again and staying to help the man who has taught her to hope, while David works out which of the secrets circling them is the one that will get them both killed.

Book one of Danielle Grandinetti's Harbored in Crow's Nest, a Depression-era romantic suspense series set on the Wisconsin shore of Lake Michigan.
