Charlie the Choo-Choo

Bob, an engineer for the Mid-World Railway Company, and Charlie, a sentient steam locomotive, have made the same run between St. Louis and Topeka for years. When the company orders a new diesel to replace Charlie, the old engine is left to rot in a rail yard. Years later, when the new diesel fails to start and Mr. Martin needs to reach his daughter's recital, Bob decides to put Charlie back on the rails. The decision saves Charlie's life and gives the pair a new purpose: pulling children in a train of cars around an amusement park.
