Synopsis

The Dark Tower closes the saga Stephen King began in 1982 with The Gunslinger. After six volumes of crossed worlds, hard losses, and a widening mythology that reaches into much of King's other fiction, Roland Deschain and his ka-tet — Susannah Dean, Eddie Dean, Jake Chambers, Father Callahan and the billy-bumbler Oy — near the end of the road to the Dark Tower itself, the nexus said to hold every world together.

The final volume brings the series' long-running antagonists, the sorcerer Walter (also known as Randall Flagg) and the Crimson King, to a head, and answers what has driven Roland since the opening chase across the desert: what waits at the top of the Tower, and what it will cost him to reach it.

Published in 2004, The Dark Tower completed a saga King had been writing since his twenties, tying the series' mythology explicitly to other novels including The Stand and It.
