Beyond the Carousel

Beyond the Carousel
Synopsis
Laura Wilkes has everything she wants on the day she photographs her five-year-old daughter riding the carousel. Months later, in the wreckage that follows the crash of 1929, her husband Franklin is killed in a senseless act of vengeance. In a Depression full of nameless men living in train yards and back alleys, no one is ever charged.
Twenty-five years on, Laura's daughter falls in love with Jack Mahoney, a rookie policeman with no power to do anything about it. When Jack makes detective with the Wyattsville Police Department, he starts pulling at the threads of Franklin Wilkes's murder.
The fifth Wyattsville novel: a family saga stretching across three generations, and a cold case that a family never stopped believing could be solved.
