The Exile

The Exile is a companion novella to The Bound and the Broken, best read directly after Of Darkness and Light. It follows Dayne Ateres through the twelve years the Lorian empire's conquest of his homeland cost him: his family, his home, and his people, all taken in the empire's expansion across Epheria.

What remains is vengeance, pursued by blade and by blood across a continent that offered him nothing else. The novella fills in the backstory the main novels only gesture at, explaining exactly what shaped the man readers meet fighting in the war against Loria.
