Synopsis

Sophie Molloy is a single mother building her own business and raising her six-year-old son, Rory, when a routine check turns up a lump — and a diagnosis of invasive early-stage breast cancer changes everything. Within months she loses her right breast, her boyfriend of three years, Brendan, who cannot face her illness, and the best friend she thought she could count on.

What follows is Sophie's fight through a double mastectomy and a string of reconstructive surgeries, told with the dark humor and unflinching honesty of a woman refusing to be defined by what cancer takes from her. Along the way she finds an unexpected connection with her plastic surgeon, Dr. Jared Hanson — a relationship complicated by the line between doctor and patient.

Storm in a B Cup draws closely on author Lindy Dale's own experience with breast cancer, blending humor and heartbreak into a story about loss, resilience, and the surprising places recovery can lead.
