Synopsis

The fourth Travis McGee novel follows the private investigator as he is hired to help a Hollywood starlet out of a blackmail scheme involving compromising photographs. Blending hardboiled noir with the series' signature gritty urban underworld, the plot moves fast and builds tension as the real players behind the blackmail are revealed. A classic of the genre, it was published in 1964 and later reissued in hardcover in 1974.
