Synopsis

As World War I looms over Egypt in 1914, Amelia Peabody and Radcliffe Emerson return to Cairo for a new season of digging. Their son Ramses faces public scorn for his pacifist views, but he is secretly entangled in a dangerous game of espionage and nationalist rebellion.
