Synopsis

Cal wakes with no body and no memory of dying—only the knowledge that he is now a Dungeon Core, a sentient stone bound beneath a mountain. To survive, he must grow a dungeon around himself, filling it with monsters and traps that keep him alive by consuming the adventurers who come looking for loot. His only companion is Dani, an erratic wisp who helps him relearn how to think. On the other side of the walls, Dale, a landowner turned reluctant adventurer, leads a small party deeper into the dungeon each week, chasing the experience and treasure that will let him escape a dead-end life. Neither man set out to be the other's enemy, but as Cal's power grows and Dale's raids get more effective, their fates become impossible to separate. Told from both sides of the dungeon wall, this is the first book in the Divine Dungeon series.
