Synopsis

Two Mundane teenagers, Dug and Kim, are pulled into a computer game that transports them into Xanth to compete for a one-of-a-kind prize: a magical talent. Unbeknownst to them, the demons who power Xanth's magic are using the pair — and the companions they choose, the skeptical Dug paired with the naga-woman Nada and Kim with the loyal Jenny Elf — as pawns in a competition of their own, as the teens battle across Xanth's perilous, pun-filled landscape.

Piers Anthony was born in Oxford, England, on 6 August 1934. His family immigrated to the United States when he was young. He graduated from Goddard College in Vermont in 1956, the year he married Carol Marble. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959, working as an editor and cartoonist for the Battalion newspaper, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1958. He left the army in 1959, taught public school briefly, and then became a full-time writer. He and Carol Marble lived for many year...
