Challenger

Cade Carter and his fellow contestants have survived the qualifying round of a mysterious alien overlords' games, but the losses have been heavy and there is no time to mourn. Learning that their next opponent will be even more dangerous than the last, Cade leads an expedition into an unfamiliar wilderness to scavenge any advantage he can find before he must duel a towering, clawed reigning champion. Along the way he is captured and thrown into a separate, deadly contest where his freedom is the prize. The second book in Taran Matharu's YA sci-fi trilogy expands the world and its prehistoric threats while raising the stakes for Cade and his allies.
