Synopsis

France, the First World War. With her abusive husband taken prisoner by the Germans, Louise Saint-Claire is left to run the family farmhouse alone in territory under German occupation, surviving on nerve and grit. When she finds a wounded British soldier, Jack Barlow, hiding near her land, she risks everything to keep him safe even as danger closes in around them both.

Jack dreams only of surviving the war and going home to build a mechanic's business of his own; instead he finds his fate entangled with a woman fighting a war of her own. Louise's War is the second novel in Rosie Clarke's Trenwith series (published as both the Trenwith Trilogy and the Trenwith Collection), following Sarah's Choice.
