Bronze Tree of Death

Bronze Tree of Death is the third volume of Xu Lei's Grave Robbers' Chronicles, the source material behind the Lost Tomb film and television franchise. The expedition grows far more dangerous this time: without his usual companions Fatty and Poker-Face alongside him, Wu Xie has to face savage monkeys, gigantic rats, and rival grave robbers largely on his own.

At the center of it all is a mysterious bronze tree that conceals secrets deadly enough to kill anyone who gets too close. As with the earlier volumes, Xu Lei favors relentless set-piece peril and pulpy tomb-raiding atmosphere over deep characterization, continuing the saga's blend of horror, Chinese history, and high adventure.
