Synopsis

Painfully shy and afflicted with a terrible stutter, Violet Edwards enrolls herself in the infamous School for Spinsters, determined to transform from wallflower to confident bride before her mother can marry her off to a man of her mother's choosing. The headmistress assigns a notorious rake, Damian Everett, Earl of Scarsdale, to give her lessons — he needs the stipend to offset his late father's mountain of debts, and all he has to do is provoke Violet into finding her backbone and standing up for herself.

As their lessons turn increasingly sensual, Damian finds himself captivated by the woman Violet is becoming. The first novel in Michelle Willingham's Regency-set School for Spinsters series.
