Synopsis

Eloise Bridgerton, the family's most outspoken and independent daughter, has quietly kept up a correspondence with Sir Phillip Crane, a botanist and widower she has never met. Their letters have grown warm and frank, and when he impulsively invites her to visit and consider becoming his wife, the twenty-eight-year-old Eloise—tired of waiting for a life to begin—runs off to meet him without telling a soul.

What she finds is not the romantic hero of her imagination but a gruff, grieving man overwhelmed by two wild children and haunted by his first marriage. Phillip, for his part, expected a plain, biddable spinster, not a sharp, headstrong woman who upends his careful plans. Neither is what the other pictured, and both must decide whether an arrangement born of loneliness can grow into love.

The fifth book in Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, To Sir Phillip, With Love is a tender Regency romance about grief, second chances, and the messy work of building a family.
