Erle Stanley Gardner is most famous for creating the character of Perry Mason, a defense attorney who solves complex legal cases. The Perry Mason series became a cornerstone of legal mystery fiction.
Many of Erle Stanley Gardner's Perry Mason novels were adapted into a long-running and highly successful television series, as well as several films. These adaptations significantly popularized his work.
