Michael Austin Stackpole (born November 27, 1957) is an American science fiction and fantasy author best known for his Star Wars and BattleTech books. He was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, but raised in Vermont. He has a BA in history from the University of Vermont. From 1977 on, he worked as a designer of role-playing games for various gaming companies, and wrote dozens of magazine articles with limited distribution within the industry. Elaine Cunningham is a history geek and former music teacher, an avid reader with a lifelong interest in mythology and folklore. This would explain why many of her characters are bards and the rest are elves. (An exaggeration, but only a slight one…) By day, Elaine is the executive director of the Providence Singers, a symphonic choir that performs with the Rhode Island Philharmonic and other ensembles.

Nancy Virginia Varian is the author of Worlds of Their Own, a book praised for its imaginative settings. She writes stories that transport readers to unique places, perfect for fans of speculative fiction.
