Synopsis

What the Cat Dragged In is the second book in Kate McMurray's Whitman Street Cat Café series, a contemporary romantic comedy set around a Brooklyn cat café.

Paige Danvers handles events for the café and has resigned herself to a string of dating disasters. While volunteering with a local cat rescue, she meets Josh Harlow, a recent law school grad who's easy company and clearly interested. The catch: Josh is the brother of Paige's boss, which makes keeping things quiet at work a lot harder than either of them expects.

The novel leans into its café setting — rescue cats underfoot, a tight-knit found-family cast of coworkers and regulars — while following Paige and Josh as they weigh a promising relationship against the risk of complicating Paige's job and friendships.
