Uyumsuz Defne Kaman'ın Maceraları

Uyumsuz Defne Kaman'ın Maceraları
Synopsis
Hava (Air) is the third installment in Buket Uzuner's series following Defne Kaman, a nonconformist journalist and advocate for animal, child, women's, and environmental rights. This time, Defne travels to Kayseri to cover the mysterious disappearance of a historic statue of the Seljuk sultan Gevher Nesibe. After an unexpected turn during the resulting trial, Defne herself vanishes — and word soon spreads that she has been sighted drifting over Cappadocia in a hot-air balloon.
As her friends set out to track her down, the novel weaves its mystery plot together with Uzuner's recurring concerns: sustainable energy, the environmental costs of unchecked development, and the old Central Asian "Kam" tradition, which regards humans as equal to all other living things in nature rather than set apart from them.
Like the rest of the series, the book pairs a light detective plot with an activist, nature-forward outlook aimed at a broad readership rather than at children specifically.
