Synopsis

Silas Kane's sixtieth birthday party ends in tragedy when he's found dead the next morning. While the coroner rules it an accident, the subsequent shooting of his heir and threats against the next in line suggest foul play. Superintendent Hannasyde is called to Cliff House, where everyone has a motive, and the investigation reveals that appearances can be deceiving.
