Synopsis

In the quiet village of Thornden, a summer tennis party at the Cedars turns deadly when the unpopular solicitor Sampson Warrenby is found shot to death. With a long list of people who disliked him, and a potential blackmail scheme in play, Chief Inspector Hemingway faces a village full of suspects, each with a reason to want Warrenby gone.
