Synopsis
Luke Driskell did not expect to marry again so soon after losing his first wife. Then he met Ashley and her daughter Joy. When Ashley runs into a burning day-care centre to pull children out, she becomes a national story overnight.
Days later she and Joy are gone. Luke cannot find a single record proving Ashley is who she said she was, only a hidden collection of identity documents in other names. An FBI agent tells him plainly that the wife he knows does not exist, and then the agent is killed.
Chad Zunker's standalone thriller follows Luke across the country and into Ashley's past lives, into the question of who she was running from and whether finding her will save either of them.
