Synopsis
Edge of the Woods is a 2019 mystery thriller by Ava James.
Fifteen years ago, a group of teenage friends were at summer camp when one of them, Bethany, disappeared. No trace of her was ever found, and the survivors carried the night away with them into adult lives that never quite settled.
When a film production sets out to dramatize the disappearance, the women are pulled back into contact with each other and with the version of events they agreed on at the time. The narrative moves between the present and the past, using memories and messages to reassemble what happened that night — and to show how far each of them is from the truth she has been telling.
A mystery-forward thriller about long-buried trauma and the cost of a shared story that never fully held.
