Synopsis

For two years, Jean Taylor stood by her husband Glen as he was investigated, tried, and ultimately not convicted for the abduction of a two-year-old girl. Now Glen is dead, and Jean is free of the marriage — and the loyalty — that kept her silent.

The Widow unfolds through four perspectives: Jean, who must finally decide what to admit about what she knew and when; Bob Sparkes, the detective who has spent years convinced Glen was guilty and unable to let the case go; Kate Waters, a tabloid reporter determined to get Jean's story before anyone else; and Dawn, the missing child's mother, still waiting for answers.

As each character's account unfolds, the novel examines complicity, denial, and how far a person will go to protect the life they've built, building toward the truth of what Jean has been hiding since the day the little girl vanished.
