Ethan Truman, a former cop turned security chief at the sprawling Manheim estate, is drawn into a desperate search when young Aelfric Manheim vanishes. As Ethan and detective Lester Yancy hunt for clues, they are pursued by an assassin with supernatural abilities and caught in a conspiracy that reaches far beyond kidnapping — involving ancient forces, a demon named Typhon, and a man who may no longer be entirely human.
