Synopsis

Five thousand years after a global catastrophe, Hiero Desteen, a spy for the emerging northern civilization, finds himself betrayed and stripped of his mental powers in the harsh desert. Once welcomed as a king's son-in-law, he now faces the unknown perils of a grim world alone. Driven north by a numbed mind, he seeks help, unaware that a cunning lure guides him toward a creature that should not exist and a meeting he cannot imagine.
