Synopsis
Hannah Parker is used to getting what she wants and to lying her way there. When her latest husband catches her out, she treats it as a cue to move on and find someone who can give her the life she thinks she is owed.
An old photograph sends her back twenty years, to Mark and the last thing he ever said to her. Hannah tracks him down and sets about winning him back. Mark is married to Susan, who notices the change in him before she can name the cause, and who is prepared to find out what is happening to her family.
The Mistress is a 2024 domestic suspense novel from Valerie Keogh, told in alternating chapters from Hannah's and Susan's points of view, about obsession, infidelity, and how far a person will go once she has decided something belongs to her.
