Isaac Hunt, a Black man with fair skin, learns a shocking truth on his grandfather's deathbed: his parents are not his own. Reeling from this betrayal, he sets out with only his birth mother's name and a city to find her and uncover his past. His journey takes him deep into the American South, to a small town where the Klan still holds sway and dangerous secrets are fiercely guarded. Isaac must confront issues of race, identity, faith, and forgiveness as he seeks his true origins.
