Synopsis

Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes return to Sussex only to be pulled into a case involving a missing woman and child. The investigation centers on Damian Adler, a surrealist painter with a mysterious connection to Holmes's own past. Their search leads them from the stone circles of Stonehenge to the bohemian underground of London as they track a killer who might be closer to the family than they realize.
