Synopsis

While wandering the Sussex Downs to escape a deep depression, an aging Sherlock Holmes encounters Mary Russell, a brilliant but troubled young orphan. He quickly recognizes a kindred spirit and takes her on as his apprentice, teaching her the arts of beekeeping and investigation. As their bond grows, Holmes must uncover the truth behind Mary's mysterious injuries and neglected state before it is too late.
