The Date Mistake Special Edition
Trevor takes pride in doing things on his own. Lately that independence has come with a loneliness he can't work out how to fix. When he flirts with Aaron, his boss's brother, he does it on impulse and expects nothing to follow.
Aaron is thirty-five, the oldest of his siblings, and still single. His brother's wedding is coming up, and he is the best man. Rather than explain his single status to the whole family, he asks Trevor, the waiter who flirted with him, to come along as his date.
The arrangement is meant to be a cover story and nothing more: two men pretending to be a couple for the length of a wedding. It does not stay that simple. Aaron starts to question assumptions he has made about himself, and what began as a convenient lie turns into something neither man planned.
This is an M/M romantic comedy in the fake-dating mold, with a light tone and a wedding as its backdrop. The Special Edition is the version of the book credited to Joelle Lynne. Expect awkward family moments, a slow shift from pretence to real feeling, and two leads who each have something to work out about what they want.
