Synopsis

In 1821 London, former shopkeeper Titus Pilcrow suddenly finds himself fabulously wealthy after marrying a dying woman to help her spite her nephew. Now a prime target for every con artist in the city, he crosses paths with Nicolas-Marc, a charming but broke French noble running from dangerous creditors. When Titus offers him a place in his home, Nicolas-Marc sees the perfect opportunity to swindle his host—until genuine feelings begin to complicate his scheme.
