Synopsis

Sixteen-year-old Simon Spier isn't ready to come out yet — not to his warm, oversharing family, not to his tight-knit friends, and definitely not to his whole Georgia high school. But he has been trading anonymous, funny, achingly honest emails with a boy who goes by "Blue," another closeted student whose identity Simon doesn't know, and somewhere along the way he's fallen for him.

Then a classmate named Martin stumbles onto the emails and uses them to blackmail Simon, threatening to out him unless Simon helps Martin get close to one of his friends. Suddenly Simon's carefully separated worlds — his secret, his friendships, and his feelings for Blue — start colliding, and he has to figure out how to take control of his own story.

Becky Albertalli's beloved, Morris Award-winning debut (adapted into the film Love, Simon) is a warm, funny, and big-hearted coming-of-age romance about identity, friendship, and the terrifying, wonderful business of falling in love and being seen.
