Synopsis

Four girls at the same school start a cupcake club, and each of the first four books in the series is narrated by a different member. The collection gathers all four stories in one volume, so the club's beginnings can be read in order.

In Katie and the Cupcake Cure, Katie is new at school and has been left out by her old best friend. She sets up a cupcake club with three other classmates. Mia in the Mix turns to the newest member of the club. The popular clique at school courts her, and she has to work out where she belongs.

In Emma on Thin Icing, Emma takes on extra jobs and chores to pay for a bridesmaid dress for the wedding of a friend's mother. All of this piles on top of her usual duties in the club. Alexis and the Perfect Recipe centers on Alexis, the most organized of the group, who tries to keep the club and the people in it together.

The books are school-age stories about friendship, belonging and small-business teamwork, told in the first person by a different girl each time. Across the four volumes, the cupcake business and the friendships among the girls take shape.
