Synopsis

Shatter and Shine is the second book in Sarah Stankewitz's Faith-Reihe, following on from the BookTok breakout "Rise and Fall."

Hazel's world falls apart when she learns that Mason, her ex-boyfriend, has been killed while serving in Afghanistan. Unable to process never seeing him again, she retreats for weeks to her grandfather's farm in Texas. There she meets Cameron, a war veteran who survived a bomb attack but lost his hearing in the blast. As a sign language interpreter, Hazel is enlisted to help Cameron adjust to his new silent world — and the two grow steadily closer as they help each other work through grief and loss.

The novel continues the series' emotionally driven New Adult romance style, balancing a slow-building central relationship against the weight of war and grief in both leads' backstories.
