Synopsis

Saga, Volume Eight picks up in the aftermath of one of the series' most devastating losses, as Alana and Marko's family tries to hold together while grief pulls at its edges. Alana, in particular, is shown struggling visibly with addiction and depression as she tries to keep working and parenting through the pain.

Collecting issues #43-48, this volume also follows Prince Robot IV, adrift from his royal duties and searching for purpose, alongside the wider cast of allies and enemies that Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples have built across the series. As always, the found family at Saga's center is shadowed by the galaxy-spanning war neither side seems able to end.

The volume continues the series' signature mix of intimate domestic drama and brutal science-fantasy violence, unflinching about both the tenderness and the damage within this family.
